Founded in 1953, Heurtey Petrochem is an international oil and gas engineering group operating within two market segments:
- Process furnaces for refining, petrochemicals and hydrogen production, an area in which Heurtey Petrochem is a world leader,
- Natural-gas treatment, through its subsidiary Prosernat. In this field, the Group is active as a technology provider and EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) player.
Heurtey Petrochem develops its business through an extensive network of subsidiaries worldwide: France, United States, Brazil, Russia, Romania, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, India, Malaysia, South Korea and China.
The Group generated a revenue of €437 million in 2014 and employs approximately 1,000 people.

Carmeuse Majan LLC, a joint venture company led by Belgium-based Carmeuse Holding SA, is setting up the project in the Salalah Free Zone with an investment of around US$180m. A total of eight kilns, each with a lime capacity of 125,000t/yr, are envisioned as part of the project. The main reasons of this choice are the presence and availability of very high quality limestone reserves, the presence of a free zone promoting industrial developments (Salalah Free Zone) and a very well located logistic hub, the Port of Salalah, to export to the surrounding Gulf countries and to India, both growing markets.
